The PB&J BrandPB&J Theatre Factory’s production of Sport in 2006, helped mold the company’s current artistic vision and storytelling devices. Sport is based on a show called Slastic, a physical comedy with no spoken dialogue, spoofing the world of sports. The show, which employs mime and clown techniques, was originally produced by the Barcelona, Spain based theatre company, El Tricicle. In 1998, PB&J Artistic Director Brandon Roberts toured Slastic around the U.S. and Europe, and even worked alongside El Tricicle members. Eight years later, with inspiration from Slastic, Roberts produced Sport for the Orlando International Fringe Festival. Since Sport, every PB&J show has followed the same silent storytelling format. PB&J continues to develop its style, heavily integrating sound effects, music, and props, creating hilarious and heartfelt stories and situations. |
